Rabies Confirmed in Parker County Deer

The Parker County Sheriff's Office wants to alert residents about the confirmation of rabies in a deer found on Sugar Tree Golf Course.  The deer was reportedly very friendly, allowing people to touch and hand feed it.

A complete copy of Parker County's news release on this issue is available below for review.  Any resident who may have come into contact with the deer on Sugar Tree Golf Course is encouraged to contact the Parker County Sheriff's Office immediately.

Given this development, residents are also encouraged to remember that deer carry diseases that can be dangerous to both humans and domestic pets, and physical contact with them should be avoided.
