Beginning September 1, 2007 the current residential rates will increase by 14.45%, from $8.95 per month to $10.24. This increase is due to a recent change in area landfill rates. The landfill located at I-30 and Linkcrest closed earlier this year, which resulted in a 60% increase to the disposal rates being charged Duncan Disposal. Duncan is now transporting the waste collected in Hudson Oaks to the Weatherford Landfill, which is now the only available disposal site located in the Parker County area.

Duncan regrets having to initiate this increase, however, disposal fees represent a significant operating expense for them, therefore requiring them to pass this cost on to its customers. Even with this increase, the rate being charged to you is still lower than many surrounding communities and still represents a good value to the residents of Hudson Oaks.

The decision to grant this increase was done so only after careful consideration by city staff members and the Hudson Oaks City Council. After evaluating the financial considerations, the City determined that it was in the best interests of all concerned to implement this increase.
