The Hudson Oaks Police Department is accepting applications until August 31, 2008 for the Citizens Police Academy. The application can be picked up from the Public Safety Building at 150 North Oakridge Drive or you may click the attachments below.

The Hudson Oaks Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment August 3rd - 5th, 2008 as part of a program to achieve recognition as a accredited Police Department by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). CALEA accreditation focuses on four core areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

As part of the assessment, agency employees and members of the community are asked to call and provide comment on August 4th, 2008 from 1 PM until 2 PM by calling (682) 229-2427. The Hudson Oaks Department is offering residential security inspections for the citizens of Hudson Oaks. Inspections are conducted by a Hudson Oaks Police Officer specially trained in assessing the security level of single family homes. Many insurance companies offer a reduced home owners rate upon compliance and completion of the security survey by police officers trained in Crime Prevention. The City of Hudson Oaks City Council adopted a teen curfew ordinance to provide police officers an added tool in the protection of life and public property.

The ordinance establishes curfew guidelines for minors under the age 17. The curfew hours are from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday and midnight to 6:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday. The curfew is applicable, but not limited to, streets, highways, parks, parking lots of schools, hospitals, apartment houses, office buildings, transportation facilities, commercial shopping centers, and shops.
