Bill Young joined the City Council In 2006. He was born and raised in Midland, Texas and is a fifth generation Texan.
He is a graduate of Lee High School in Midland and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from West Texas State University in Canyon. He served as an Officer of Kappa Alpha Order, President of the Intrerfraternity Council, was designated a Distinguished Military Student, and was a member of Scabbard and Blade, the National Military Honor Society. Bill continued his education at the University of Texas at Austin.
Young served in the U. S. Army as a Combat Arms Commissioned Officer (Armor) assigned to the First Armored Division. He has been employed in state and municipal government with the Texas State Comptroller’s Office and with the City of Hurst. He was employed as the Materials Management Administration Supervisor and member of the Project Procedures Review Committee at the South Texas Nuclear Project. Additionally Bill has worked in the aerospace industry as a PQA Engineer and with the United States Department of Defense National Imagery and Mapping Agency.
