The Mayor and the City Council comprise the legislative body that governs the City of Hudson Oaks. They work together to create policy and enact ordinances that are implemented by the City Administrator. The City of Hudson Oaks has chosen to operate under a Council-Administrator form of government that allows the Mayor and Council to focus on creating policies that reinforce principals of good governance and community preference, while entrusting the day-to-day management of City affairs to the City Administrator.

The City of Hudson Oaks City Council is comprised of a Mayor and five Council Members. All positions are elected at large and serve two year staggered terms. The Mayor and Places 1 and 3 are elected on even numbered years. Places 2, 4, and 5 are elected on odd numbered years. Elections are held every year during the month of May.

Regular Council Meetings are held on fourth Thursday of each month.

Special Called Council Meetings are held on an as needed basis.
