May 10, 2008 Early Voting and Election Day Polling locations...

The May 10, 2008 General Election will contain the local option election to allow the sale of beer and wine only for off premise consumption. The election will only impact those portions of the City that are currently "dry."

Both early voting and election day will take place in the Council Chambers of Hudson Oaks City Hall, located in the portable building at 150 North Oakridge Drive, Hudson Oaks, TX 76087.

Monday, April 28, 2008 - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Tuesday, April 29, 2008 - 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Wednesday, April 30, 2008 - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Thursday, May 1, 2008 - 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Friday, May 2, 2008 - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Monday, May 5, 2008 - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Tuesday, May 6, 2008 - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

The City Council approved a request by Robert Beall to zone an 83.466 acre tract of land located on the C.J. Eddleman Survey.

Additional Requirements for Gas Well Variance

City Council granted a variance request to Devon Energy to drill a gas well within two hundred (200') feet of a protected use at the April 24, 2008 City Council meeting. Council required Devon to meet the attached additional requirements in order to receive the variance.

April Council Meeting Moved To Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church

Storm Related Brush Collection

The City of Hudson Oaks has coordinated a special storm related brush and bulk trash collection for Saturday, April 26, 2008.

Duncan Disposal will collect all storm related debris placed on the curb. Uncollectible items (tires, batteries, paint, etc.) will not be collected. Depending upon the amount of debris that remains after the Saturday collection, an additional collection may be scheduled for the following Saturday, May 3, 2008. The special collection would be in lieu of customers calling Duncan to schedule a pickup as usually required on the first Saturday of the month.

The City Council met on March 27, 2008 to consider and take action on the following items:
 
Devon Energy Gas Well Variance Request
The City Council decided to table a vote on the waiver/variance requested by Devon Energy in order to study the establishment of additional criteria to mitigate the effects of the gas well on residential areas. The issue will be reconsidered at the April 24, 2008 Regular City Council Meeting.    
 

Gas Well Update

Devon Energy has submitted an application for a gas well within the City of Hudson Oaks city limits. 

The permit applications, site plans, and the City of Hudson Oaks Gas Well Ordinance are posted in the "just Added to the Site" section of the webpage.

Offices Closed in Observance of Good Friday

City offices will be closed on Friday, March 21, 2008 in observance of Good Friday. Offices will re-open on Monday, March 24, 2008 at 8:00 AM.

The City Council met on February 28, 2008 to consider and take action on the following items:
 
Update to Land Use Table
City Staff proposed changes to the Land Use Table in order for the City to improve its planning and development process. Staff felt as though the current Land Use Table did not address all of the needs and uses that the City may see in future development. Council Passed the Updated Land Use Table.
