The following information is intended to serve as a guide to help you navigate the City of Hudson Oaks development process.

SITE SELECTION AND VERIFICATION

By the time we are aware of most developments within they City of Hudson Oaks they have already selected their site and verified zoning, utilities and other site specific concerns. In the event that your development has not done so, we can assist you with utility and zoning verification, traffic counts as well as discussing site suitability for your proposed development. Please contact us to setup a pre-development meeting to discuss these issues.

SITE PLAN AND PLAT APPROVAL

The City of Hudson Oaks has adopted a very specific Plat approval process. This process is outlined in the Subdivision Ordinance. You will be required to provide all of the items as identified on the Preliminary Plat Checklist and Final Plat Checklist. Some of these items are not normally required in other communities, and we recommend that in order to avoid surprises and project delays that you schedule a pre-development meeting to discuss the requirements with City staff members and your own development team. These meetings help to ensure a smooth process and timely project completion.

PLAN REVIEW AND INSPECTIONS

The City of Hudson Oaks will no longer accept paper plans and drawings for plan review. All plans must be submitted on a CD-ROM in a .PDF file format. Large developments and subdivisions with significant public improvements will also require plans to be submitted in a .DWG file format in addition to the .PDF file format. In general, plan review takes anywhere from two to four weeks depending on the size and complexity of the project. Again, a pre-development meeting and subsequent review meetings help to reduce project delays during the review and permitting phase of your project.

Once your plans have been reviewed and approved, a building permit will be issued. You will need to contact us to schedule the appropriate inspections as you reach your project milestones.
