Bill Young

In June of 2006, Councilmember Bill Young joined the City Council to fill the unexpired term of Place 2. Recently Bill was re-elected in May 2007 to a full two year term.

Bill was born and raised in Midland Texas and is a fifth generation Texan. He graduated from West Texas State University in Canyon with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology/Business Administration. He served as President of the IFC, was designated a Distinguished Military Student, and was a member of the National Military Honor Society. He later continued his formal education at the University of Texas at Austin studying Astronomy.

In addition to his education, he served in the military at Fort Hood and as a commissioned officer in the army assigned to the First Armored Division. He has worked for state government in the Texas State Comptroller’s Office Oil and Gas Division, and in municipal government as the Purchasing Agent for the City of Hurst. In the private sector he was employed at the South Texas Nuclear Project as the Materials Management Administration Supervisor and as a member of the Project Procedures Review Committee. He has worked in the aerospace industry as a Procurement QA Engineer specializing in supplier corrective action, and has also worked with the United States Department of Defense National Imagery and Mapping Agency.

He married Susan Lacey in 1990 and moved from Fort Worth to the Diamond Oaks subdivision in July 1993, six months prior to the birth of their first child. Three years later they had a second daughter. Bill and Susan have enjoyed living in Hudson Oaks and have recently built a new home within the city limits. Councilmember Young is honored to serve the citizens as a Hudson Oaks City Council Member.
